How we help at AZA
- Assess. We look at the wound or lump, ask about your health, and check anything that affects healing, such as diabetes or blood-thinning medicines.
- Explain. We tell you what the procedure involves, how long healing usually takes, and how to care for it at home.
- Treat. Suitable procedures are done in the clinic under local anaesthetic.
- Follow up. We book dressing changes and wound reviews until it has healed properly.
When to see a doctor urgently
Some wounds need a doctor's assessment without delay: bleeding that won't stop with firm pressure, a deep cut with numbness or loss of movement, an animal bite, or a wound that becomes hot, more painful, oozes pus or comes with a fever. Please WhatsApp or come in straight away so a doctor can examine it. If it is severe or after clinic hours, go to the nearest emergency department.
Common questions
Do I need an appointment for a wound?
For a fresh cut, come in during clinic hours or WhatsApp us first. For planned procedures, we'll book a time after an assessment.
I have diabetes. Should I get small wounds checked?
Yes. Wounds can heal more slowly with diabetes, especially on the feet, so it's worth having them checked early.
Will it leave a scar?
Most procedures leave some mark. We'll explain what to expect and how to care for the area so it heals as neatly as possible.
